WOW 2025 - registration open
Weekend on the Water (WoW) is a council event led by the Alamo Area Sea Scouts, open to Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, and Sea Scouts. The event includes water-based activities, fellowship, challenges, and advancement opportunities. Weekend on the Water coincides with Safe Boating Week, so there is an emphasis on safety in the water!

This Year's Theme: Just Keep Rowing
Keep moving toward your goals even in the face of challenges.
Activities include:
Sailing, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboard, etc. – Throughout the event, you will have the opportunity to use sailboats, kayaks, canoes, SUP, and pedalboats. If you don’t know how to use one, we will teach you!
Karaoke – On Friday night, you and your unit will have the chance to participate in karaoke. This is a great way to get to know your fellow competitors and to have fun.
Skits and songs – You and your unit get to perform your own campfire skit or song.
Knot Challenge – Teams of up to five scouts must tie 10 randomly drawn knots as quickly as possible. Includes knots like the square knot, bowline, and clove hitch.
Scavenger Hunt – Units receive a list of 100 items to find throughout the weekend, submitting photos through the Goosechase app.
Trivia Challenge – Teams test their knowledge of Scouting topics using a whiteboard to write answers.
Dutch Oven Dessert Cookoff (Fan Fave) – Scouts and adults compete to make the best dessert using a Dutch oven, judged on taste and presentation.
Kayak Relay Race – Teams navigate a course around a mooring buoy, switching paddlers each lap while avoiding penalties for improper starts.
Scouts Own Service – On Sunday morning, units will come together and be reverent
Awards – The WoW staff are working to create awards for each of the challenges. If your unit wins overall, you will also be awarded your very own WoW 2025 trophy.
